Track Name: One Day I'll Come Home
Dear Dad, I’m writing to you from the A Train
The train from that old jazz song that you like
I worked late, now I’m going home to finish off these songs
It’s gonna be another long night

And I skyped with mum the other night, don’t say I told you but she cried
She misses me my brother and sisters too
And have you heard from my dear brother, or is he still fighting in another country’s war?
Tell me what else is new..

CHORUS
One day I’ll come home and have a beer with you alone
On the footsteps of the door to our old place
And we’ll talk of all the things that have made us who we are
But till then I hope my letter will fill the space

So my love? Oh he left me and I’m trying to be ok
It’s hard sometimes to not feel so alone…
But I dream and think and write and sing and put it in a song
So I can pass the time, it won’t be long

CHORUS
One day I’ll come home and have a beer with you alone
On the footsteps of the door to our old place
And we’ll talk of all the things that have made us who we are
But till then I hope my letter will fill the space

I’m coming home
I won’t be long
I’m coming home
I won’t belong
I’m coming home
I won’t be long
I’m coming home
I won’t belong

CHORUS
One day I’ll come home and have a beer with you alone
On the footsteps of the door to our old place
And we’ll talk of all the things that have made us who we are
But till then I hope my letter will fill the space
But till then I hope my letter will fill the space
Track Name: Suburbia
Suburbia

We’d fall in love straight out of school
All of our friends think it’s really cool
We buy a dog and name him Spike
We marry young, you make me your wife

And we live in the house your grandparents built
And I’ll grow fresh herbs on the window sill
We’d have two kids by 25
It would be the simple life

I’m with you, in suburbia
Where people wash their cars, and walk dogs in the park
I’m with you, in suburbia
Living the simple life

Our friends grow up and move away
Chasing their dreams in the big city
It’s too much for me I must confide
‘Cause I prefer the simple life

I’m with you, in suburbia
Where people wash their cars, and walk dogs in the park
I’m with you, in suburbia
Living the simple life

And things don’t change much, except we watch the kids grow
And things don’t change much, except I love you more than I know
And things don’t change much, things don’t change

‘cause I’m with you, in suburbia
Where people wash their cars and pray to jesus after dark
I’m with you, in suburbia
Living the simple life

Living the simple....
Track Name: BFF
I miss you my best friend,
We were gonna rule the world
We held hands and declared that we wouldn’t be scared
So where did all the time go

And where did you go, best friend?
Last I heard you left our home town
You got on a plane and moved to Spain
While I was London bound

And now we don’t talk like we used to
And ten years on, I know we’ll say
Where did the time go?
Did the time go?

What did you do, best friend?
Did you grow up with me?
Did you get a real job just like the people in highschool?
Or are you still overseas

And who did you meet best friend?
Did you meet a prince or a king?
Did you meet a boy or did you save the world?
Just tell me anything

And it’s so sad we just don’t make the time
And if we did, we’d be fine but I know we’ll say
Where did the time go?
Did the time go?

So long, my old friend, I hope to see you again

Where did the time go?
Did the time go?
Track Name: George
George
You’d share your bed
And I’d find space in the sheets
And I’d hide in your arms and hear your heart beat da-dum da-dum da-dum
It was pure and good
And we’d lie still and awake
And hear the sounds of the night till the morning would break

And though outside was cold, I had you to hold me

I’d call you george and we’d speak in code
And in winter we’d hibernate while outside it snowed
And you’d call me your muse while I’d play my guitar
It was the longest winter by far
Then spring came
You were gone

You liked acronyms and you’d play with your words
And I’d indulge in your wit, it was always absurb

And though outside was grey, you and me were ok

Cuz I’d call you george and we’d speak in code
And in winter we’d hibernate while outside it snowed
And you’d call me your muse while I’d play my guitar
It was the longest winter by far
Then spring came
You were gone

We’d sit at your window
And watch the night streets glow
Like fire, marveling how beautiful the world seemed

And I’d call you george and we’d speak in code
And in winter we’d hibernate while outside it snowed
And you’d call me your muse while I’d play my guitar
It was the longest winter by far
Then spring came
You were gone
Track Name: Hampstead
Hampstead

My last week in Hampstead, we went down to the park
And played in all the red leaves and walked home in the dark
While we planned our lives together though we knew this was the end
And I won’t forget you Hampstead
Or you, my darling friend

And maybe one day, it’ll all be ok
I’ll come back and I’ll find you’re still there
Or maybe you’ll leave, and come looking for me
‘Cause I’m going but I don’t know where,
Goodbye Hampstead

My last night in Hampstead, I prepared to say goodbye
I wrote all my friends letters, and hoped they wouldn’t cry
While we stayed up drinking red wine to keep us warm at night
‘cause the next day I was leaving, and I hoped you’d be alright

and when the taxi came to take me away
we just stood and I cried on the street
‘cuase we’ll never know where the time will go
or whether again we will meet
so we said our goodbyes and wiped tears from our eyes
cuz we knew this would be the last time
and I won’t forget that winter we met, or who I was leaving behind
Goodbye Hampstead
